Natural Cures from Your Everyday Stuff!

AVOID UNWANTED HAIR . . .

High levels of free testosterone in women can result in hirsutism, characterized by hair growth on the face, breasts, and stomach. Spearmint tea may reduce excess body hair. Drink two cups of spearmint tea daily for five days (note: people with hiatal hernias or who are prone to acute gallstone attacks should not ingest spearmint).

PUFFY, TIRED OR IRRITATED EYES . . .

You need 2 chamomile tea bags and one cup distilled water. Boil distilled water, add tea bags and steep until water is lukewarm. Remove bags and squeeze out most of the water. Place bags over closed yees for 15 minutes (note: if you have ragweed allergies, do not use this tip).

ITCHY, FLAKY, DRY SKIN . . .

You need a cup of coarsely ground sea salt and one-quarter cup olive oil. Sir oil into salt. Standing in the shower, massage 2 tablespoons of mixture into skin (save rest for later). Rinse. Repeat weekly.

STOP THE BLEEDING . . .

Stop a minor cut or deep gash from bleeding by covering the cut with cayenne pepper spice. Gently pour on the pepper. Yes, it will sting - and yes, the bleeding will stop quickly.

STY . . .

A sty is an inflamed sweeling on the eyelid. This classic fold remedy sounds ridiculous but has worked many times. The minute you notice a sty, take a 14-carat gold ring (wash it first) and rub it several times across your eyelid every 15 minutes or so, until the sty disappears. It shouldn't take more than one or two attempts.

BURNED FINGERTIPS . . .

Burn your fingers on that pot handle? Grab wrong side of curling iron? Acupressure is a unique way of treating thos minor burns, where the skin is painful and red but unbroken.  Place your thumb on the back side of your earlobe, and the burned fingertips on the front side of hte same earlobe. Press firmly. After a minute, the pain should be gone.

THE COFFEE MIRACLE . . .

Best news! Coffee is back on the "good list" based on recent studies. Helps reduce risk for cardiovascular disease and Parkinson's. Number one source of antioxidants in the American diet, helps the liver, has high level of soluble dietary fiber, reduces sourness in muscles from exercising, and improves mental ability among seniors. But how much right? Experts suggest two to four cups a day - if you can sleep at night, four a day is fine.

THE SUPER SPICES . . .

Spices not only boost the flavor in your food but certain spices can also boost your health. Cinnamon (enhances metabolism), Cilantro (high in vitamins A, K and betacarotene), Ginger (anti-inflammatory superstar), Garlic (contains allicin which helps fight infection and prevent food poisoning), Cayenne (for gas and headache relief: pour cup boiled water over half teaspoon cayenne power, drink 3 times a day).

If we find more, we'll add them . . .

Be learned in your life! :)
